NDA & NA Exam Cutoff – Check here previous year cutoff
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the NDA & NA Exam every year. This exam is conducted to recruit the interested candidates in the Army, Navy as well as the Air Force.
NDA 2021 Cut off will be the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the authority to clear entrance test of NDA 2021. The cut off will be released through online mode on the official website of UPSC. It will be important for the candidates to score minimum cut off marks to be eligible for the interview round.
The cut off marks for both the rounds will be prescribed different by the authority. The cut off marks will be decided on the basis of various factors. These factors are mentioned below:
- Total number of vacancies
- Number of candidates appeared for the exam
- Difficulty level of examination
- Level of competition

Sectional cut off of NDA & NA Exam
The sectional cut off is the minimum marks needed to qualify each section. The sectional cut off marks in NDA also varies. Usually, it is somewhere around 25% to 30%. Check previous year UPSC NDA & NA sectional cut off from below.

UPSC Cut Off Marks for NDA & NA Exam for SC/ ST/ OBC Candidates
In UPSC NDA & NA no separate cut off is released for SC / ST / OBC candidates. There is one cut off and on the basis of it candidates belonging to all the candidates are selected or rejected. Each candidate has to thrive for his position in merit without the ladder of reservation.
UPSC Cut Off Marks for NDA NA for AirForce, Army, Navy
There are no separate cut off marks for Air Force, Army, Navy. UPSC releases the only the cut-off marks of written and interview. The final selection in any force depends on medical fitness, mental abilities, and SSB interview.
NDA & NA Exam Final result is declared after the completion of the SSB Interview. The Union Public Service Commission shall prepare a list of candidates
who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as fixed by
the Commission at their discretion. Such candidates shall appear before a Services
Selection Board for Intelligence and Personality Test where candidates for the Army/Navy wings of the NDA and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme of Indian Naval
Academy will be assessed on Officers Potentiality and those for the Air Force in addition to the above will have to qualify Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS). Candidates with Air Force as one of the choices would also undergo CPSS if they qualify SSB and are willing.
This year there are a Total of 400 Vacancies declared in the NDA & NA Exam (I) Notification including 370 in NDA National Defence Academy and 30 in the Naval Academy respectively.
The National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NDA & NA) Exam 2021 is conducted on the national level for the aspiring candidates. The UPSC NDA Exam is conducted two times in a year namely NDA & NA Exam (I & II). The NDA & NA Exam (I & II) 2021 will be held for male unmarried candidates who are interested in the Indian Defence Forces after class 12th or equivalent.These dates have been released on the official website of UPSC that is https://www.upsc.gov.in/
For NDA & NA Exam (II) will be conducted on September 5, 2021

After clearing the NDA 2021 Exam, the selected candidates are sent for training and post their graduation from NDA, they are allotted service as per the following:
- Indian Military Academy (IMA)
- Indian Naval Academy (INA)
- Air Force Academy (AFA)
Educational Qualification:
- For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: 12th class Pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a state Education or a University.
- For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at Indian Naval Academy: 12th class Pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by State Education Board or a University.

Eligibility criteria
- Candidate age should be between 16.5 to 19.5 years
- Only male candidates are eligible to apply for NDA & NA
- The male candidates should be Unmarried.
The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
Mere issue of Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission. Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up
only after the candidate has qualified for interview/Personality Test
The approximate number of vacancies to be filled on the results of this
examination will be as under :—
National Defence
Academy : 370 to include 208 for Army, 42 for Navy and 120 for Air Force (including 28 for ground Duties)
Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme) : 30
Total : 400
Vacancies are provisional and may be changed depending on the
availability of training capacity of National Defence Academy and
Indian Naval Academy.
EXAM PATTERN :
- NDA& NA Exam 2021 will be held twice a year through Pen and Paper i.e. offline mode
- The language of paper will be in both languages Hindi and English
- The paper will be based on multiple choice question
- The paper will be divided into two sections: Mathematics and General ability
- The duration for the complete paper will be 5 hours (2.5 hours for each section)
- 33% of marks assigned to the question will be deducted for each incorrect answer
